For Labor Day Weekend...

we decided to go to a swim park not too far away. It is only $4.oo a person and kids 2 and under are free. SWEET! At the park they have this whole section just for little kids. They have water squirting every where. Blake loves it there. His favorite part was the slide. He did it over and over and over (you get the picture)! I wish I could have gotten a picture of it but I had to be the one at the bottom to catch him. I'm pretty sure my camera would not do well with water!! We had so much fun. We all wished we could have spent more time there, but alas Matt had to get back to the law books.

-This is Blake's Excited face-

That night we went to Burns Park for a picnic. Blake of course loved the slide there. Needless to say it was a great day. I thought it was so great that I told Matt that the only thing that would make the day even more perfect is if I had the baby
that night (No such luck)!

Here is what we've been up to

Matt: Has been staying busy as the Young Mens President of our church. They went camping at Buffalo River and had a great time. Last week he received two job offers and he decided to be a law clerk for a law firm in Downtown Little Rock. He started working this week and so far he really enjoys it. He also started his 2nd year of Law School this week and is enjoying that as well.
Blake: Has mastered the art of walking. His favorite thing is to go outside and walk around and look at all the plants and the water fountain out front. He is also trying to get the hang of using a sippy cup, it has been a little bit challenging but he is getting better. Blake also likes to take things out (like toys from their box, books from his book shelf, pots from the cupboards, and when mom's not looking trash from the garbage) and put them back, playing with daddy, and dancing with mommy.
Me: My stomach is continuing to expand in size and I can no longer see my feet! Being in the primary presidency has kept me busy, but I am enjoying serving the children in our ward. That is pretty much it for me. I'm just glad that everyday I get to be doing the best job ever, and that is to take care of Blake! (P.S. If anyone has any good suggestions on good activities for a one year old and that doesn't cost any money I would love to hear it. I think Blake is starting to get a little board of our usual activities).

I've been tagged

The theme is four:

1. Four places that I go over and over: Dr. Woods, Wal Mart, my bed for a nap, & the freezer for ice cream.

2. Four people who email me regularly : My mom, Matt's mom, Nicole, & Nellie

3. Four of my favorite places to eat: Macaroni Grill, Serrano's, My moms, & Texas Road House

4. Four places I would rather be right now: Arizona, Idaho to visit Nic, Ben & Jess, & Nellie, on a pretty beach, hanging out with Matt, in the hospital holding my new son.

5. Four people I tag: Nicole, Nellie, Noelle, & Naomi

6. Four T.V. shows I watch: none now (we cancelled our service) but before: The Office, Reba, Martha Stewart, & American Idol

Walkin' Talkin' Baby!

Okay, so maybe not so much on the talking part, but he is becoming a pro at walking.

Birthday Boy

My little boy turned one on August 11th. I have to admit that I spent a lot of the day sulking because Blake is just growing up way too fast. He did have fun opening presents and eating cake (again)!

Blake wasn't sure how to eat his cupcake with his hands full of icing.

Texas

We recently went to Corpus Christi Texas for a Wyeth family reunion and then spent a few days in San Antonio with Matt's brother Scott. It was great to see family. Once again I did a horrible job at taking pictures.

We arrived in San Antonio Thursday afternoon. There we met the rest of the family coming in from Phoenix. We all loaded up into 3 mini vans and drove two hours to Corpus Christi. When we arrived we stopped at my Grandparents for a quick hello and then went to our hotel to put the kids to bed. Once the kids were down we all met in my parents room and had a fun time talking and spending time together.

(Wishing we were in Corpus Christi)

Friday was spent mostly at the beach. After another late night of talking in my parents room, my mom, Ben, Nellie, Naomi, and I went to Wal Mart to buy the book Breaking Dawn (which I loved).

(Blake loved the beach and the ocean)

Saturday we went to the aquarium. The best part was the Dolphin Show and the worst part was when Blake got his arm caught in the automatic doors (he was okay, but I felt like a horrible mother)! Later that day we had a little b-day celebration for Blake's up coming birthday. Afterwards we went back to my grandparents and had dinner. My grandad then met with each individual family back in his bedroom to give the a grandfathers blessing. Blake even got one. It was really special. I love my grandad so much.

Sunday we loaded up in the vans again and headed back to San Antonio. While everyone else had a plane to catch. Scott came and picked Matt, Blake, and me up. We went to church with him (it was nice change to go to Relief Society). Scott's friend Jenelle came over and we enjoyed a delicious dinner that Matt and Scott made. Scott left for choir practice and Jenelle, Matt and I played Rook.

The next day we went to the river to go swimming. It was very pretty and the water felt great.

Tuesday Matt and Scott went biking and bowling while I stayed at the house enjoying the AC and reading Breaking Dawn. It was nice to relax. Then we had to say goodbye and it was back to the airport. Our flight in Dallas was delayed an hour so we didn't get home until late. Blake did surprisingly well.

Wednesday I spent doing laundry and catching up on primary needs.

Thursday we packed up our car and drove 5 hrs. back to Texas. Our friends the Calls invited us to go with them to Dallas to attend the Temple. The drive wasn't so bad except Blake making himself so upset that he threw up everywhere. We had a really good time and it was nice to attend a Temple session with Matt. (Since there isn't a temple close by we usually take turns watching Blake while the other does a session).

Friday Shawn and Kelli went to the temple while we watched their kids and then we went to the Fort Worth Texas Zoo. Then back in the car for the 5 hr trip to AR. Thanks Calls for a great time!

My darling Child!

My sister-in-law Jen took pictures of Blake when we went to AZ this summer. I was impressed at how many good pictures she got of him because Blake was being a stinker and did not want his picture taken.

Blake with his cousins Addiyln and Carter

Blake loved swimming at Grammie's. Here he is being tossed by Matt and Noelle

YUMMY
