This past weekend Matt and a guest (which if course would be me!) were invited to the Arkansas Bar Foundation Mid-Dinner. Matt had applied for a scholarship last semster and was chosen. This dinner was to honor him and other students who had been awarded scholarships. When Matt had told me about the dinner I thought, "Yeah, a night out with my husband" and then I pictured us being in a rented out room in one of downtown Little Rock's restaurants and enjoying a buffet that the restaurant had prepared for the occasion. Boy was I mistaken! I was right about going downtown, but it was in the Regions building (one of little rocks few skyscrappers) on the 30 floor. When Matt and I stepped out of the elevator we saw a room with two beautiful chandaliers and in place of the walls were large windows with an amazing view of Arkansas. We were told to go and enjoy some refreshments, so Matt and I made our way to the bar and enjoyed our Sprite in fancy crystal goblets. After awhile the head waiter informed us that dinner was ready, so we made our way into the dinning area and found our reserved seats. Matt sat next to a third year law student who gave us lots of helpful tips on how to survive law school. At this point I was starving and was ready to dig into the salad that had been placed before me, but I noticed no one else was eating. So while I waited for the signal to go ahead I stared at the 3 forks next to my plate trying to remember if it was the "correct manner" to go from the outside in or the inside out. I chose the middle one!:) The salad was great, the rolls were yummy, I liked the vegetables that came with the main course and this red circle thing that no one at the table knew what it was (my guess was a dyed apple). Oh, and of course the chocolate pie was great! All in all it was a really fun night. I am very proud of Matt and all of his hard work. (side note: I did not take this picture, I found it on the internet and it was the closest I could find to what the tables looked like).
